Chebab/Chabab/Shebab is one of the most known Arabian pancakes which is eaten for breakfast simply with butter,honey,sugar, jam or else with date syrup. Chebabs are yeasted pancakes and they are the most liked breakfast of many in Arabic countries. These chebabs have their own place even in Ramadan meal. Flavored with cardamom and saffron,these pancakes are simply fabulous to indulge with some buttery honey sauce.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 3cups All purpose flour
  2. 1tsp yeast
  3. 1cup Milk
  4. 1/2tsp salt
  5. 1/4cup sugar
  6. 2 eggs
  7. 1/4tsp saffron
  8. 1/2tsp cardamom powder


  1. In a bowl, take the flour, sugar, salt,yeast,cardamom powder, saffron and pour the lukewarm milk. Whisk the eggs and add it to the mixture.
  2. Add the enough water to make a mixture and turn them as pancake batter, keep aside in a warm place.
  3. Let the batter sit for an hour.
  4. Heat a pan, grease it generously, pour a ladle of batter and cook in medium flame on both sides until they turns golden brown.
  5. Serve them immediately with butter and honey.
