Everyone loves aloo bonda in my home. you can eat it as such or in form of vada pao .

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. For the potato filling
  2. 3 boiled potatoes
  3. 1 onion
  4. 1 tbsp oil
  5. 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
  6. 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  7. 1/2 tsp coriander powder
  8. 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
  9. 1/2 tsp garam masala powder
  10. Salt,to taste
  11. For outer covering
  12. 1/2 cup gram flour
  13. 1/2 tsp salt
  14. 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
  15. 1/2 tsp carrom seeds
  16. Pinch baking soda
  17. Water,as required
  18. Oil,for frying

Instructions

  1. Take oil in a pan.
  2. Add mustard seeds and as they splutter add onion.
  3. Cook till translucent and then add salt and all dry spices.
  4. Add mashed boiled potatoes and mix well.
  5. Let it cool then make equal size balls with this mix.
  6. Add salt,chilli powder,baking soda and carrom seeds to gram flour.
  7. Make a smooth batter with water.
  8. Dip the balls in this batter and fry them on medium flame till golden brown.
  9. Serve hot with chutneys.
