Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Dry prawns - 1 cup
  2. Grated coconut - 1 cup
  3. Dry red chillies - 5
  4. Jeera - 1/4 tsp
  5. Turmeric - 1/4 tsp
  6. Tamarind paste - 1/4 tsp
  7. Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Wash the prawns and let them dry, or leave in a strainer.
  2. Meanwhile roast chillies and jeera in a pan just slightly. Let cool.
  3. Dry roast prawns and coconut separately. Coconut should be browned.
  4. Grind chillies and jeera till just done. Add prawns, coconut and all other ingredients and just whir once.
  5. Dry prawn chutney is ready. Serve with rice and curry.
