Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Beetroot 1 peeled and grated
  2. Red Apple 1 grated
  3. Orange juice from 1 orange
  4. Orange zest 1 tsp
  5. Red onion 1 chopped
  6. Garlic pods 2 crushed
  7. Coriander seeds 1 tsp
  8. Cloves 2-3
  9. Cinnamon powder 1 tsp
  10. Ginger powder 1/4 th tsp
  11. Vinegar 1/4th cup
  12. Brown/White sugar 1 cup


  1. Clean and cut and grate beetroot, apple and onion and collect other ingredients.
  2. In a heavy bottomed saucepan, add all the ingredients and mix well.
  3. Cook in medium heat till the mixture starts boiling.
  4. Now cover and simmer to cook for 30-40 minutes in low flame.
  5. Stir 2 -3 times in between.
  6. When the mixture becomes a shiny homogeneous mass remove from heat and transfer to a sterilized jar.
  7. Let it cool and then refrigerate.
  8. This chutney will taste best if consume after 2-3 days.
  9. This chutney can be accompanied with roti, paratha or bread.
