ABOUT Sweet Potato Halwa RECIPE

Sweet potato pudding or shakarkand halwa is an easy and quick dessert you can make for any occasion. This halwa can be had during fasting, festive occasion or anytime when you want to have something sweet. This halwa recipe is another way you can eat this awesome and nutritious root veggie which is very rich in vitamin A.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. 1 tablespoon ghee
  2. 200 gram boiled sweet potatoes
  3. 1/2 cup milk
  4. 5 tablespoon sugar
  5. 1 tablespoon chopped almonds
  6. 1 teaspoon cardamom powder
  7. 7 to 8 strand of saffron


  1. Peel and grate sweet potato.
  2. Heat ghee in a pan add grated sweet potato.
  3. Stir well and saute 3 to 4 minutes.
  4. Add sugar and milk and saffron and saute for 4 to 5 minutes or until ghee begins to come away from sides of the pan.
  5. Add cardamom powder and chopped almonds.
  6. Our sweet potato halwa is ready to serve.
