ABOUT Sesame Jaggery Parantha RECIPE

Home made sesame Jaggery Parantha is one of the best parents in winter for everyone. It is sweet sticky parantha. The addition of sesame, almond, cardamom powder, saffron threads, salt makes it yum and keeps you warm.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Whole wheat flour 2cup
  2. Carom seeds (ajwain) 1tsp
  3. Ghee 1tbsp
  4. Salt to taste
  5. Water as required
  6. For Stuffing :
  7. Sesame seeds 1/2cup
  8. Jaggery 1/2cup
  9. Cardamom powder 1tsp
  10. Saffron threads 8-10
  11. Finely chopped almonds 1-2tbsp
  12. Salt 1/4 tsp


  1. Heat a non -stick pan, add sesame seeds and roast it for 3-4 mins. When it comes light golden in colour, off the flame.
  2. Keep it aside for 5mins.
  3. Bring a blender jar, add roasted sesame seeds and blend it once.
  4. Now open the lid ,add jaggery and blend it again. Make fine powder.
  5. Now add this jaggery mixture into a bowl.
  6. Add cardamom powder, saffron threads, chopped almonds, and salt into the jaggery mixture and mix well.
  7. Bring a bowl, add whole wheat flour, carom seeds, ghee, and salt and mix well.
  8. Add little little water in it and make a smooth dough. Rest it for 5 mins.
  9. Now devide the dough into 8-10 portions and round it like a ball.
  10. Now bring one ball, add jaggery stuffing in it and roll it like chapati.
  11. Stuff all balls like that and roll it.
  12. Heat a tawa, add this rolled chapati on it, spread ghee both sides and cook for 2mins both sides.
  13. Cook every chapati like that and serve hot with pickles and hot ginger tea.
