ABOUT Idli Batter Mysore Bondas... RECIPE

Amazingly delicious hot bondas made with Idli batter are a treat to our tastebuds. These are made with only all purpose flour too, some even make with urad daal or black gram added to the flour and it is also made with rice and all purpose flour combined. Whichever method you choose, these bondas are a gourmet's delight. In all the other methods, curd is used to make them airy and spongy. But with the Idli batter, these are done instantly and the fermentation process helps a great deal here. Therefore you are good to go. Just fry and relish them with your loved ones and friends alike. Ingredients Serving: 10

  1. Leftover Idli Batter 2 cups
  2. All purpose flour 2 1/2 tbsp
  3. Rice flour 2 Tbsp
  4. Salt to taste
  5. cumin seeds 1 tbsp
  6. Coconut small pieces 1/4 cup
  7. 1" ginger grated
  8. Baking soda 1/4 tsp
  9. curry leaves 10
  10. Coriander leaves finely chopped 1/4 cup
  11. Onion large finely chopped 1

Instructions

  1. Add all the ingredients to the batter and mix well preferably with the hands and not the spoon.
  2. Allow this to rest at room temperature for half an hour
  3. After half an hour, drop small balls of this mix into hot oil and deep fry on a medium-high to high heat until golden brown.
  4. Serve hot with Coconut Chutney at tea-time. Delicious, melt in mouth and soft bondas are ready to be enjoyed with a hot cup of tea or coffee.
