Khaman cake

Ingredients to make Khaman cake

  • Ingredients for Khaman
  • 1/2 cup besan
  • 1/8 tsp citric acid
  • salt as required
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • water as required
  • 1 tbsp Fruit salt
  • Ingredients for chutney
  • 1/2 cup fresh coriander
  • 1/4 cup Fresh mint leaves
  • 4-5 Green chilli
  • 1 inch ginger
  • 5 pieces garlic
  • salt as required
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • water as required
  • For garnish Hung curd
  • pomegranate seeds

How to make Khaman cake

  1. Blend in all chutney ingredients with water to from smooth chutney
  2. In a bowl add Besan, salt, citric acid, oil, sugar and water, mix well and rest batter for 10 minutes
  3. Boil water in a steamer and grease a plate
  4. In batter add fruit salt and 1 tsp water, mix it properly
  5. Pour the batter immediately and steam khaman for 15 minutes
  6. Allow khaman to cool down
  7. In a muslin cloth add curd and tie it on a tap to strain excess water for making huge curd
  8. In bowl add huge curd and some salt, mix it
  9. Frost with huge curd frosting
  10. Spread chutney evenly and sprinkle pomegranate seeds and put some chopped fresh red chilies
