About Fun box Recipe

It is a complete dish consist of Proteins, carbohydrates, vitamins and as it is also very much yummy,so kids will definitely enjoy this funny looking and nutritious dish.

Ingredients to make Fun box

  • For Chinese tikka:
  • 8 pieces of chicken boneless cubes
  • 12 pieces of onion cubes
  • 12 pieces of red capsicum cubes
  • 12 pieces of green capsicum cubes
  • 1 tbsp soya sauce
  • 1 tsp tomato sauce
  • 1/4 tsp chilli sauce (optional)
  • 1 tsp cornflour
  • 1 tsp vinegar
  • salt as per taste
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp oil ,for grilling
  • 4 nos skewers sticks,dip in water for 20 minutes
  • For stir fry vegetables:
  • 2 cups vegetables (carrots, beans, cabbage, sweet corn, capsicum, onion),cut into small pieces
  • 1/2 TSP CHOPPED ginger
  • 1 tsp chopped garlic
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper powder
  • salt to taste
  • 1 tsp soya sauce
  • 1/2 tsp cornflour
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • For rice balls:
  • 3 cups boiled basmati rice, smashed it slightly
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 1 tsp chopped garlic
  • 1/2 TSP CHOPPED ginger
  • 1 tsp chopped onion
  • 1 tbsp chopped green capsicum
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper powder
  • salt to taste
  • 1 tsp soya sauce
  • 6-7 small pieces red capsicum, for garnishing
  • 8 whole black pepper,for garnishing
  • For salad:
  • 6-8 nos carrot sticks
  • 6-8 nos beetroot sticks
  • 6-8 nos cucumber sticks

How to make Fun box

  1. For Chinese tikka: In a bowl mix chicken cubes, onion cubes, capsicum (red, green) cubes , Soya sauce,tomato sauce, chilli sauce, vinegar, cornflour, salt (as required ), sesame oil and marinate for 20-25 minutes.
  2. Now thread red capsicum, green capsicum, onion, chicken in the skewer sticks (as pic below)
  3. Heat non-stick pan,brush oil and grill tikkas from all sides, Chinese tikkas are ready.
  4. For stir fry vegetables: in a bowl mix cornflour and soya sauce with 2 tbsp of water , keep aside.
  5. Heat oil in a pan,add chopped garlic and ginger,saute it.
  6. Add all vegetables ,fry it in high flame for 2 minutes,then add black pepper powder, salt (as required) and cornflour-soyasauce mixture , cook it for 3-4 minutes,stir fry vegetables are ready.
  7. For Chinese ball: heat oil in a pan,add chopped garlic, chopped ginger, saute it ;then add chopped onion , chopped capsicum black pepper powder, salt and cook it till onions become translucent.
  8. Now add boiled rice, soya sauce, saute it for couple of minutes, check seasoning and put off the flame.
  9. Shape like balls (as desired size)with rice , make eyes with black pepper , beaks and mohawks with red capsicum , such that finally it looks like a chick. Serve hot with Chinese tikkas,stir fried vegetables and salad in a complete platter.

My Tip:

Adjust spice according to kids taste.
