Its superb recipe, from chef damu's kitchen,which i tried its very yummy and delicious goes well with rice and dosa

Ingredients Serving: 7

  1. Onions 3 chopped
  2. Tomatoes chopped 2
  3. Green chillies 3
  4. Red chillies 3
  5. Turmeric powder 1tsp
  6. Salt as required
  7. Toor dal 1 cup
  8. For tempering
  9. Mustard seeds 1tsp
  10. Red chillies 2
  11. Fenugreek seeds 1tsp
  12. Cumin seeds 1tsp
  13. Chana dal 1tsp
  14. Curry leaves few sprigs
  15. Coriander leaves few sprigs
  16. Tamarind pulp lemon sized (take the extract from that)
  17. Hing 1tsp
  18. Oil 2 tbsp

Instructions

  1. Wash the dal,add water , turmeric powder and salt and pressure cook (5-6whistles)
  2. Heat oil in a pan add mustard seeds,red chillies,chana dal,Fenugreek seeds,Cumin seeds and curry leaves
  3. Add onions saute well
  4. Add tomatoes ,Salt Turmeric powder saute it well
  5. Add the cooked dal with some water and also add the tamarind extract
  6. Add some coriander and curry leaves
  7. Finally take green chillies 3and red chillies 3 tear it into small peices and add to it
  8. Let it bil for 5 mins
  9. Serve hot with rice,Dosa&idlis.
