Roti with Tomato Chutney

Ingredients to make Roti with Tomato Chutney

  • Roti Ingredients:
  • wheat flour 2 cups
  • water as required
  • Kasuri Methi/ fenugreek 2 tbsp
  • Green chilli, finely chopped 1
  • jeera/ Cumin powder 1 tsp
  • Dhaniya/ coriander powder 1/2 tsp
  • Red chilli powder 1/4 tsp
  • Chaat masala 1/2 tsp (optional)
  • sugar 1 tbsp
  • salt 1/2 tsp
  • tomato chutney Ingredients:
  • 3 tomatoes, finely chopped
  • Finely sliced onion 1
  • Chopped green chilli 1
  • Red chilli powder 1/2 tsp
  • coriander powder 1 tsp
  • jeera/ Cumin powder 1 tbsp
  • sugar 1 tbsp
  • salt as required
  • Few coriander leaves, chopped
  • oil 2 tbsp
  • garlic pods 3
  • mustard seeds 1 tsp
  • jeera/ Cumin 1 tsp
  • curry leaves 5

How to make Roti with Tomato Chutney

  1. Take a bowl, mix in all the roti ingredients and make a soft dough. Leave it for 10 mins, then roll out rotis from the dough and roast them.
  2. To make the tomato chutney, heat oil in a pan, then add in the garlic and mustard seeds. Saute for a minute, then add in the curry leaves. Next add the onions and fry it for 3 mins.
  3. Now add in the chopped tomatoes, green chilli, salt, sugar and all the powders. Fry it for 5 mins.
  4. Add in the tamarind pulp and cook for a minute. Then turn off the gas and garnish it with fresh coriander leaves.
  5. Enjoy the roti with this tangy chutney.
