Choco Lava Cakes

Ingredients to make Choco Lava Cakes

  • Salted butter 50 gms
  • Chocolate bar 50 gms ( any industrial chocolate will do)
  • Powered sugar 50 gms
  • Refined flour 1 table spoon heaped
  • 1 egg beaten
  • Vanilla essence 1 table spoon

How to make Choco Lava Cakes

  1. In a pan on a water broth add the butter and the chocolate. Let it melt and become a uniform mixture. Don't put it directly on gas. Keep aside and let it cool.
  2. While the above mixture is cooling. Sift refined Flour in a vessel.
  3. To it add the powered Sugar, vanilla essence and egg mixture. Mix and make a battery.
  4. Add the cooled chocolate and butter mixture to this and fold gently.
  5. Line ramekins with butter and dust with cocoa powder .
  6. Add the above mixture to the ramekins. Only fill them half as the mixture will rise in the oven
  7. Pre heat oven to 200 degrees Celsius. Put these ramekins in the oven. Bake for 10-12 minutes.
  8. Check after 10 minutes. The surface of the mixture should be wobbly like a lava underneath.
  9. Once this stage is reached bake for another 2-4 minutes.
  10. Let it cool down. Serve warm. Add a dollop of ice cream or whipped cream.
  11. Dig into it and see the runny chocolate dribble out like lava .

My Tip:

Dust the ramekins with cocoa powder instead of refined flour. This will prevent the cake from having white surface when you de mould it.
