Ingredients to make Dark temptation

  • 115 gms chocolate- chopped ( I used Rich’s dark chocolate compound)
  • 1/2 cup butter ( I used Amul butter)
  • 3/4 cup castor sugar
  • A pinch of coffee (optional)
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • Some extra butter and cocoa powder for greasing and dusting the cake tin.

How to make Dark temptation

  1. Preheat oven to 190 degrees C.
  2. Prepare a 7 inch or 8-inch round baking pan. Line bottom of pan with butter paper.
  3. In a microwave safe bowl, melt butter and chocolate together for about 2-3 minutes. Stop after 1 minute and lightly stir with a spatula and melt again. Once out of the microwave, keep stirring until chocolate is melted.
  4. Add sugar into this chocolate mixture.
  5. Add eggs and beat well for 2 minutes.
  6. Add the cocoa powder to this mixture and mix until just combined.
  7. Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes.
  8. Let cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Loosen edges with a knife and invert onto a serving plate and cool completely for about an hour.
  9. Dust lightly with powdered sugar and serve with raspberries/strawberries or ice cream!
