ABOUT Moong Daal Ladoo-easy Indian sweet recipe for Diwali RECIPE

Moong Daal and Jaggery are both rich in proteins, iron and fiber making this Ladoo nutritious as well. This is a very traditional dish made with jaggery and moong daal and without much effort. All you need is to roast, grind, mix and make ladoos.

Ingredients Serving: 30

  1. 2 cups moong daal roasted
  2. 1 Cup Jaggery
  3. 1 1/4 cup ghee
  4. 2 tbsp cashewnut chopped
  5. 2 tbsp almonds chopped
  6. 2 tbsp pistachios chopped
  7. 4 to 5 nos green cardamoms powdered

Instructions

  1. Dry roast the moong dal over medium heat until you get a nice aroma of well roasted moong daal which will take 4-5 minutes. Allow it to cool and then grind to a smooth powder along with the green cardamom.
  2. Sieve it to get the soft flour of moong dal.Mix together powdered jaggery and roasted moong dal flour without any lumps and mix well .
  3. Heat ghee in a heavy bottomed pan and add chopped almonds, pistachios and cashew nuts til these turns slightly brown.
  4. Add moong dal flour and jaggery mixture to it and switch off the flame and mix it properly to see the ghee is coated properly.
  5. Let the mixture becomes a little luke warm so that your palms can handle the heat .Make lemon sized ladoos out of it and keep aside.
  6. Once cooled, you can store these in an airtight container for over a month.
