Honey Chilli Potatoes

Ingredients to make Honey Chilli Potatoes

  • potatoes- 4, cut into thin strips
  • maida/ Flour- 2 tbsp
  • Corn flour - 2 tbsp
  • pepper powder - 1 tsp
  • Green chilli sauce - 1 tsp
  • Red chilli sauce - 1 tsp
  • Soy sauce - 1 tsp
  • onion - 1, finely chopped
  • capsicum, finely chopped - 2 tbsp
  • Spring onion, finely chopped - 1 tbsp
  • garlic, finely chopped - 2 tsp
  • ginger, finely chopped - 1 tsp
  • honey - 2 tbsp
  • Red chilli powder - 1 tsp
  • salt to taste
  • oil for deep frying

How to make Honey Chilli Potatoes

  1. In a bowl, mix together the maida, corn flour, salt, pepper and the potatoes. Sprinkle a little and mix well. Leave it for a couple of minutes.
  2. Heat enough oil in a pan and fry the potatoes until they are crisp and golden.
  3. In another pan, heat a little oil, and add the ginger-garlic and green chillies. Add the finely chopped onions, a handful of the spring onions, capsicum and saute on a high flame for a minute.
  4. To this, add a tsp of red chilli powder, a teaspoon of red chilli sauce, green chilli sauce, soy sauce and vinegar each and mix it well.
  5. Next, add in 2 tbsp of corn starch to this, 2 tbsp of honey and salt. Mix it well on a high flame.
  6. Add the fried potatoes to this, give it a quick toss and take it off the heat.
  7. Garnish with spring onions, a generous sprinkle of white sesame seeds and serve it hot.
