ABOUT Punjabi Saputada roti RECIPE

It is a Punjabi recipe and very tasty. The roti is crisp from outside and soft from inside

Ingredients Serving: 1

  1. 1 cup all purpose flour
  2. 1/4 cup ghee
  3. Salt a pinch
  4. 1/2 tsp baking soda
  5. Water for kneading dough
  6. Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a bowl take all purpose flour and add salt , baking soda and 1tsp ghee
  2. Mix well with it hands
  3. Now add water as needed and knead a soft dough
  4. Keep it to rest for 5 mins
  5. Now make 7 small sized balls from the dough
  6. Take one and roll a thin chapati and keep aside
  7. Do the same with all 7 chapatis
  8. Now take one chapati and spread ghee on it with your hands
  9. Sprinkle some dry flour on it
  10. In same manner place all chapatis one on one
  11. Now take a knife and cut the chapati from Centre to circumference
  12. Roll it like a cone
  13. Flatten it with hands roll out again
  14. Now heat up the griddle or pan
  15. Take good amount of oil and shallow fry the roti
  16. It will take 8 to 10 mins for cook properly from inside
  17. Fry on slow flame
  18. Serve hot with any sbji and raita
