Strawberry Kiwi Chutney

Ingredients to make Strawberry Kiwi Chutney

  • Strawberry - 12 (medium size)
  • Kiwi - 1
  • onion - 1
  • garlic - 2
  • turmeric Powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Sambar Powder - 2 teaspoon
  • coriander powder -1 teaspoon
  • salt - to taste
  • oil -2 teaspoon
  • water -1/2 a cup (Adjust according to hardness of the fruit)
  • coriander - A small bunch for garnishing
  • hing powder- A pinch
  • Musturd - 1 teaspoon
  • chana Dhal / Bengal Gram- 2 teaspoons
  • cumin seeds - 1 teaspoon
  • Dry red chilli - 2
  • Grated ginger - 2 teaspoons
  • curry leaves - few

How to make Strawberry Kiwi Chutney

  1. In a pan put 2 teaspoons of oil and temper in the following order starting with Hing powder, mustard, Bengal Gram , Cumin seeds , dry red chili and curry leaves.
  2. Add garlic, ginger and saute for a min.
  3. Add Onions and saute them until they turn to golden color.
  4. Once cooked add strawberry and Kiwi cook for 5 mins.
  5. Add salt, turmeric, sambar powder, coriander powder and mix it.
  6. Add necessary water and mix well. Cook until the mix turns mushy or dipping consistency.
  7. Garnish with Coriander.

My Tip:

The fruits must be of sour variety. Sweet ones would alter the tastes and still can be used as a dip for chips and nacho's. Curry leaves can be ignored if you do not like them to be used as a dip in nacho's.
