Energy booster, Dieting free Weight loss khichidi

Ingredients to make Energy booster, Dieting free Weight loss khichidi

  • 1/2cup Sama / kutki ke chawal
  • 1/2 cup roasted dalia
  • 1/4 Cup Oats
  • 1 cup Mixed lentils like moong chalka dal, dhuli moongh dal,tuaar dal, and urad dal
  • Mixed vegetables 2 cup as per your taste and availability ( peas, spnich, broccoli, cabbage, carrot, potatoes, bell pepper, bottle gourd etc)
  • 1 1/2 Chopped tomatoes
  • 1 cup Chopped onion
  • 1/2cup Fresh curd
  • 2 green chilly chopped
  • 1 tsp ginger garlic paste
  • 1/4 cup coriander
  • 1tsp cumin
  • 4 cloves
  • 1/2tsp haldi
  • 1 tsp red chilly powder
  • Pinch of hing powder
  • salt to taste
  • 1 tsp lemon juice

How to make Energy booster, Dieting free Weight loss khichidi

  1. Wash lentils and keep aside Heat 2 tsp of ghee in a pressure cooker add cumin seeds , ginger garlic paste, green chillies, cloves and hingh powder. Saute for 15 secs
  2. Add chopped onions saute for 2 mins then add mixed vegetables and saute for 2 mins. Then add chpped tomatoes and cook for a while. Till tomatoes get tender.
  3. Then add fresh curd and washed lentils and mixture of kutki rice, dalia and oats. Mix well
  4. Add lemon juice , haldi powder, red chilly powder , garam masala, salt to taste.
  5. Add 7 cups of water. Close lid of pressure cooker and cook for 4 wistles . 1 wistle high flame and rest 3 wistles on low flame.
  6. Garnish with coriender and lemon slice. Serve hot.

My Tip:

You can prepare this dish by only using either dalia or kutki /sama chawal or oats. You can also mix any two as per availability and taste. You can add rice also.

Tuar dal urad dal peas shud be avoided in wt loss regime. They cause bloating. The khichdi is yum without these ingredients as well.
