Moongdal halwa using microwave

Ingredients Serving: 8

  1. Moongdal 1 cup
  2. Sugar 1 cup
  3. Elaichi 7-8
  4. Cashewnut 10-15
  5. Orange Colour A pinch
  6. One and a half cup ghee

Instructions

  1. Soak moongdal for 6 to 7 hours.
  2. Drain water and grind it into smooth batter preferably in a wet grinder.
  3. Add one and half cups of ghee to the paste in a microwave vessel.
  4. Heat it at high temperature for 5 minutes. Stir the mixture after every 5 min till all water gets evaporated and ghee comes out.
  5. Now fry it on gas stove till the colour changes to brown. Add cashewnuts along with this.
  6. Add one cup milk, three cups water to one cup sugar. Bring it to boil. Add elachi powdered.
  7. Once the sugar dissolves, add a pinch of orange colour. Add sugar syrup to the moongdal. Allow it to cool.
  8. Once water is absorbed, heat required quantity of halwa while serving.
  9. Relish hot halwa.
