Ingredients Serving: 8

  1. Sooji 1/2 kg
  2. Wheat flour 2 tbspn
  3. Vegetable oil 1/2 cup + 1/2 cup ghee
  4. Salt 1 1/2 tsp
  5. Red chilli pd. 1/2 tsp
  6. Ajwain 1 tsp
  7. Oil to fry d mathris


  1. Sieve the semolina [Sooji] and the wheat flour together.
  2. Put salt , red chilli powder, ajwain , ghee and oil .
  3. Mix everything together very well.
  4. Knead a semi soft dough using water.
  5. Make small sized balls .
  6. Roll the dough portions into small roundels. Prick the raw mathris with a fork.
  7. Deep fry these mathris on a medium heat in hot oil.
  8. Fry till the mathris are golden brown in color. Once cooled completely store in the air tight container
