Ingredients to make Lemon rice with coconut chutney and sambar

  • rice 2 cup
  • oil 2 tsp
  • mustard [sarson] seeds 1 tsp
  • Channa dal 1/2 tsp
  • Whole cashewnuts 5-6
  • curry leaves 8-10
  • Whole red chilli 1
  • salt to taste
  • turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
  • lemon juice 1 tbsp

How to make Lemon rice with coconut chutney and sambar

  1. Wash and soak the rice .
  2. After 30 minutes boil the rice.
  3. Drain and discard the water
  4. Put a heavy bottom pan on the flame.
  5. Add oil
  6. Than add the channa dal saute it.
  7. Than add cashewnuts saute for a while.
  8. Add the sarson seeds ,let it splutter.
  9. To this put the whole red chilli , curry leaves ,cook for a while .
  10. Put all the masalas saute
  11. Simmer the flame .
  12. Put the boiled rice.
  13. Mix lightly
  14. Add the lemon juice and mix well
  15. Lemon rice is ready to serve
