Ingredients to make Barbeque Nation Style Cajun Spiced Baby Potatoes

  • For the Cajun spice mix -
  • garlic powder 1 tbsp
  • onion powder 1 tbsp
  • Dried oregano 1 tsp
  • Dried thyme 1 tsp
  • Black pepper powder 2 tsp
  • Red chili powder 2 tsp
  • Red chili flakes 1 tsp
  • salt 1 tsp
  • For the Cajun spiced potatoes -
  • Baby potatoes 20
  • vegetable oil 2 tbsp
  • Cajun spice mix 1 tbsp
  • Mayonnaise 2 tbsp
  • Fresh cream 2 tablespoons
  • honey 1 tbsp
  • onion (finely chopped) 2 tbsp
  • Spring onion (finely chopped) 2 tbsp
  • Red chili powder 1/2 tsp (for garnishing)
  • salt 1 tsp
  • water 2 cups

How to make Barbeque Nation Style Cajun Spiced Baby Potatoes

  1. Take all the ingredients required to prepare the Cajun spice mix.
  2. In a bowl, mix them all together well.
  3. Store in air tight container until use.
  4. Wash and clean the baby potatoes. As we are not going to peel the skin, clean them thoroughly.
  5. Pressure cook with water and little salt for 5 minutes.
  6. Once they are almost cooked (after 5 minutes), drain the water.
  7. Flatten the potatoes carefully using a small plate or saucer.
  8. Heat oil in pan.
  9. Place the flattened potatoes into the oil and shallow fry.
  10. Flip the sides and fry for about 15 minutes.
  11. Once they are fried perfectly and the crust turns nice golden brown, switch the flame off and remove from oil.
  12. Now in a bowl, mix together the fresh cream and mayonnaise.
  13. To this mix, add 1 tbsp of the prepared Cajun spice mix and mix well.
  14. Now add this dressing and honey to the fried potatoes, and mix well
