Lauki Ka Halwa

Ingredients to make Lauki Ka Halwa

  • lauki/Bottlegourd 500 gms
  • milk 1 liter
  • ghee 2 tbs
  • sugar 1 cup
  • almond 15-20
  • pistachio 20-25
  • cardamom powder 1tsp
  • nutmeg powder 1/4
  • Green food colour 1 pinch

How to make Lauki Ka Halwa

  1. Peel and grate the bottle gourd.
  2. Add cardamom and nutmeg in mixi jar and grind them.
  3. Chop almonds and pistachios for garnishing.
  4. Take 2 tbs milk add food colour and dissolve it.
  5. Now take a kadai add ghee
  6. Now add grated bottlegourd and saute for 3 to 4 minutes.
  7. Now add milk in it and bring it to a boil on low flame. Cook for 10 minutes.
  8. Cook and stir till thick
  9. Keep cooking for 15-20 minutes
  10. Now add 1 cup sugar in it and stir it.
  11. Add food colour also along with sugar and stir it till it turns into a thick mixture.
  12. When the mixture looks like halwa, add cardamom and nutmeg.
  13. Mix again and garnish with chopped almond and pistachio
  14. Your yummy halwa is ready to serve.
