Ingredients to make Chicken Korma

  • 6 tbsp oil
  • 1 tsp Grated ginger
  • 1 tsp minced garlic
  • 2 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 3 cups Pureed onions
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 200 ml ready made tomato puree
  • 3/4 red chilli powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp Roasted and ground cumin powder
  • 2 tsp coriander powder
  • 3/4 tsp cardamom powder
  • 3 tsp dry fenugreek leaves
  • 1 chicken cut into small pieces
  • 3 1/2 cups water
  • 1/2 cup cream
  • 3/4 tsp garam masala powder
  • chopped coriander leaves for garnishing

How to make Chicken Korma

  1. Heat oil in a pan .Add 1 tsp minced garlic.Add grated ginger.
  2. Add bay leaf and cumin seeds.Let it crackle.
  3. Add 3 cups pureed onions.Cook till it is brown in color
  4. Add cinnamon sticks and tomato puree.Cook till it leaves oil.
  5. Add red chilli powder, salt, cumin powder ,coriander and cardamom powder .Add fenugreek leaves .Add 1 chicken , cut into small pieces.
  6. Add 3 1/2 cups water.
  7. Cook till gravy becomes thick.
  8. When it cools down , add cream and simmer for 5 minutes. Add garam masala powder.
  9. Garnish with chopped coriander.Serve with paranthas.
