Banana and sprouts cutlets

Ingredients to make Banana and sprouts cutlets

  • 1 cup boiled and mashed raw banana
  • 1 cup boiled and mashed potatoes
  • 1/2 cup green gram (moong) sprouts
  • 2 tbsp chopped capsicum
  • 1 tbsp or as required ginger and green chilli paste
  • 2 tbsp chopped coriander
  • 3 tbsp coriander leaves
  • 2 tbsp chopped mint leaves
  • 3 tbsp chopped spring onions
  • 1 chopped red onion
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 1 tsp amchoor powder
  • salt to taste
  • Suji for coating
  • oil for shallow frying
  • Cheese slices cut in squares for topping
  • Hot and sweet sauce for serving
  • Green chutney for serving

How to make Banana and sprouts cutlets

  1. In a large bowl mix banana , potatoes, capsicum, mint leaves, spring onion, onion, coriander leaves, sprouts, salt, amchoor powder, garam masala and ginger- chilli paste.
  2. Make lemon size balls and roll them in suji
  3. Heat tawa and sprinkle some oil. Place the ball on tawa and lightly press with fingers to flatten it. Repeat with others too
  4. Shallow fry on both sides till golden brown and crisp adding few drops of oil if required.
  5. Place in a plate. Keep a piece of cheese slice on it. Fill the sauce in a cone and make design on cheese slice. Put a drop of chutney. Sprinkle chat masala (optional)
  6. Serve hot

My Tip:

No binding agent like corn flour or bread crumbs is used keeping in mind to make the recipe healthier for kids. Boil and mash potatoes and bananas when hot. Keep them to completely cool before adding anything.
