Ingredients to make Banana choco chip cookies

  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 2 small ripe bananas
  • 1 tsp of vanilla essence  
  • 1 tsp of baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp of salt 
  • 1/4 cup of butter unsalted at room temperature
  • 1/2 cup of brown sugar or fine sugar
  • 3/4 cup of chocolate chips

How to make Banana choco chip cookies

  1. Mash the bananas well with the back of a fork to make a puree.
  2. Pre-heat oven to 180°C. Line a baking tray with parchment paper, or a baking sheet and set aside.
  3. Sift the flour, salt, and baking powder twice into a big bowl.
  4. In another bowl, beat the butter and sugar together for 2-3 minutes or until creamy using an electric beater or a hand blender.
  5. Add the vanilla extract and the pureed bananas and gently combine until you get a smooth mixture.
  6. Finally, add the chocolate chips and fold in.
  7. Now with the help of a spoon, gently scoop out a coin size mixture and give shape with your plams and place on the lined baking tray.
  8. Repeat this step with rest of the mixture and keep cookies about 2 inches apart from each other.
  9. Bake for about 15 mins. The edges will become light brown and you will get that awesome aroma.
  10. Take the tray out and let it rest and cool for about half an hour.
  11. You can enjoy them when warm with your hot cuppa.
  12. Cool completely before storing it in an air tight container for up to 2 days. Refrigerate if keeping them longer.

My Tip:

1 Vanilla extract can be replaced by Cinnamon and nutmeg powder. 2 Apt for gifting purpose also.
