ABOUT Pork Vindaloo RECIPE

This spicy pork dish is the main dish in the celebration of Xmas, Easter and many more feasts in the east Indian Catholic community from Vasai Virar belt of western coast of Maharashtra.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. Pork 1 kg
  2. Garlic 1 1/2 cup
  3. Jeera 2-3 tbsp
  4. Kashmiri chilli 12-15
  5. Vinegar 1 cup.
  6. Bottle masala 2-3 tbsp (available at Catholic shops in Vasai )
  7. Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Clean and wash pork thoroughly.
  2. Grind together garlic, jeera and Kashmiri chilli in vinegar
  3. In a thick bottom vessel mix together pork with the ground masala, bottle masala and salt.
  4. Cook on low flame (put some water on the lid BUT NOT IN PORK MIXTURE )
  5. Cook for about 45 min, stirring at interval. Serve with bread (pav)
