ABOUT Sweet potato leaves with split green gram. (Moong Dal) RECIPE

Dal and leafy vegetable are one of my favourites as it fulfils the requirement of two dishes in one. You can eat it with both rice and roti.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Green gram lentils /moong dal 1 cup
  2. Sweet potato leaves 2 cups
  3. Onion, chopped 1
  4. Tomato chopped 2
  5. Curd 2 tbsp
  6. Garlic, crushed 2 Tsp
  7. Ginger , grated 1 tsp
  8. Dhania /coriander powder 1 tsp
  9. Kitchen king masala 1 tsp
  10. Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
  11. Salt and chilli to taste
  12. Oil for seasoning
  13. Onion chopped 1 for garnishing
  14. Coriander leaves finely chopped for garnishing

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a pan. Add Asafoetida, mustard seeds. After it crackles add jeera, chopped onions, ginger and garlic.
  2. Wash sweet potato leaves and dal.
  3. Wehn the onions become translucent add moong daal, add masala, salt. Cover and cook for some time.
  4. When the dal is half cooked add sweet potato leaves and chopped tomatoes.
  5. Cover and let cook for 2 minutes. Beat the curd and add.Switch off.
  6. Heat oil in another pan, fry onion till brown and add to it.
  7. Garnish with coriander leaves.
  8. You can eat this with both rice and roti.
