ABOUT Sprouts Bruschetta ( Healthy Snacks) RECIPE

I made Bruschetta withCroutons. Croutons are small pieces of fried or toasted bread. I always try different fillings for Bruschetta. So this time I added green gram and masoor sprouts to it. This addition enhanced the taste of the receipe and improved protein value too.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Green Gram Sprouts coarsely ground - 1 cup
  2. Masoor Sprouts coarsely ground - 1 cup
  3. Onions - 2 (chopped)
  4. Tomato - 3 (chopped)
  5. Garlic crushed - 1 tsp
  6. Ginger grated - 1 tsp
  7. Fresh basil chopped - 2 tsp
  8. Balsamic Vinegar 1 Tsp
  9. Salt to taste
  10. Chilli powder - to taste
  11. Roasted cumin powder - 1 tsp
  12. Dried parsley - 1 tsp
  13. Shredded Parmesan cheese - 2 tbsp
  14. Croutons ( roasted) - 30 to 35
  15. Olive Oil - 2 tsp


  1. Heat olive oil in a pan, add chopped Onions, saute, then add ginger and garlic.
  2. After the raw smell of Onions goes away add coarsely ground green gram sprouts and masoor Sprouts. Add salt, all the masalas and let them cook a little ( not fully to add crunch) Sprinkle some water if dry.
  3. Now add finely chopped Tomatoes. Don't let the mixture become dry. Sprinkle water in between. When cooked to desired texture, turn the gas off and add grated cheese to the mixture. Cool and add fresh basil / coriander leaves and vinegar.
  4. Scoop one tsp over each Crouton as a topping. Sprinkle parsley and serve with tea/ coffee or tomato soup.
