White Bread with Jam

Ingredients to make White Bread with Jam

  • White flour or wheat flour 450gm
  • 2 tbsp white flour for dusting
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 7 gm dried yeast
  • 1 tbsp veg oil or melted butter
  • 1 tsp butter for greasing
  • 300 ml warm water

How to make White Bread with Jam

  1. Mix flour, salt and yeast In a bowl.
  2. Add oil, water and stir well to form a soft dough
  3. Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface.
  4. Knead well by hand for 5 to 7 mins.
  5. Can use electric mixer.
  6. It should be smooth and feel elastic.
  7. Transfer to a bowl .cover with a cling wrap.
  8. Leave in warm place to rise. For 1 hour.
  9. When it doubled in size turn it onto floured surface.
  10. Knead again for 30 seconds.
  11. Shape it rectangle the length of a baking tin.
  12. Grease the tin well.
  13. Keep the dough in it.
  14. Cover and keep in a warm place for 30 mins.
  15. Preheat the oven at 220C for 10 mins.
  16. Bake it for 25 to 30 mins.
  17. Until firm and golden brown.
  18. Test it by tapping it on the bottom.
  19. It should sound hollow.
  20. Cool for 30 mins. Cut and store or serve.
