ABOUT Murgh Shahi Tandoori RECIPE

Tandoori chicken is so famous that it has become a quintessential dish in many of the mughlai restaurants, make this at home with this easy recipe.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1200 gms Chicken breast / leg piece
  2. 65 gms Ginger garlic green chilli paste
  3. 200 gms hung curd
  4. 15 gm Kashmiri red chilli powder
  5. Juice of 1 lemon
  6. 40 gms browned onion , made into a paste
  7. 40 gms Tomato paste
  8. 2 pinch of Kasuri Methi
  9. 1/2 tsp garam masala
  10. 1 pinch cardamom powder
  11. 2 tsp red chilli powder
  12. 50 ml Mustard oil
  13. Butter for basting
  14. Chaat masala to serve

Instructions

  1. Marinate the chicken in Ginger garlic green chilli paste, Kashmiri red chilli powder, salt and lemon juice for an hour.
  2. Rub the hung curd and all the spices , onion and tomato paste . Now put the Chicken into this marination. Drizzle the oil onto it. Cover and keep refrigerated for a few hours.
  3. Preheat the oven at 200 degree celcius. Roast the chicken pieces in the oven for 15-18 minutes. Keep basting with some butter. Change sides too.
  4. Sprinkle some chaat masala and butter and Serve. Serve it with a green chutney yogurt dip.
