ABOUT Dates and Nuts Roll RECIPE

It's festive season and I had a lot of dates lying around, so I decided to make a healthy recipe with dates and nuts together.

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. dates 250gms
  2. Almonds pistachios and Walnuts 1 cup
  3. Pure ghee 5 teaspoons
  4. poppy seeds 1/2 cup


  1. First remove the seeds from dates, mash well and keep aside..
  2. Roast poppy seeds in a nonstick pan. Set aside to cool. Meanwhile chop nuts keep aside.
  3. Take 3 teaspoons of ghee and fry nuts for 2-3mins. Remove and keep aside
  4. In the same pan add the remaining ghee ad saute the dates and mix well.
  5. Then add the chopped nuts to the dates mixture and stir till a dough is formed. This will take about 5 minutes.
  6. Remove the mixture and let it cool. Once cool make a roll and coat the roll with poppy seeds and freeze it for two hours.
  7. Take the log out and slice with a sharp knife. Serve chilled.

I tried this recipe came out really good.. I added cocoa powder too in this recipe..

very nutritious for kids..i think raisins can also be added?
