About Coconut Fish Curry Recipe

Coconut Fish Curry

Ingredients to make Coconut Fish Curry

  • 1/2 kg fish fillet
  • 1 medium size onion finely chopped
  • 10-12 Dried red chillies
  • 1/4 tsp - cumin seeds
  • 4-5 - black peppercorns ground
  • 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
  • salt to taste
  • 1/2 tsp - turmeric powder
  • tamarind paste-2 tbsp
  • 3 tbsp oil
  • 2 cup of water
  • 2 tsp vinegar
  • sprinkle of nigella seeds(kalonji)
  • 1/2 cup coconut milk

How to make Coconut Fish Curry

  1. Cut the fish into medium pieces and marinate with salt and 1/2 tsp pepper for 15-20 mins
  2. Grind red chillies, tamarind paste, pepper, garlic ginger paste, cumin seeds, turmeric powder and little water together and make a paste
  3. Saute the onions till brown.
  4. Add the prepared paste and cook for 2 minutes
  5. Add 1 cup of water.
  6. Cook till water comes to boil then add fish and coconut milk.
  7. Cook on low flame till the fish is tender enough.
  8. Add salt to taste and vinegar.sprinkle the nigella seeds.
  9. Serve with rice or malabar parantha.
