ABOUT Simple paneer RECIPE

Whenever I search for a paneer recipe I come across gravies loaded with cream butter caju etc. I always make this gravy with minimal spices and try to keep as low calorie as possible by avoiding heavy cream etc. Tastes equally good and everyone in my family like them.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. paneer 200 gms cubed
  2. Small piece of dalchini
  3. One cardamom
  4. One boiled potato optional
  5. One onion
  6. One tomato
  7. ginger garlic paste 2 tablesp
  8. haldi powder 1/2 tablesp
  9. Chili 1/2 tbsp
  10. cumin powder 1/2 tbsp
  11. dhania powder 1/2 tbsp
  12. salt
  13. 8 kaju
  14. 2 or 3 almond
  15. Kasuri methi 1tbsp
  16. tomato Ketchup 1 Tbsp

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a Kadhai.
  2. Add dalchini and cardamom.
  3. Grind the onion to a rough paste and add to the hot oil.
  4. Fry till the paste leaves it's rawness.
  5. Now add ginger garlic paste. Fry till oil comes out.
  6. Add dry masala powders.
  7. Add a table sp of water so that masala don't burn.
  8. Fry for two minutes. Add chopped tomatoes.
  9. If you want you can puree the tomatoes. Cook well till tomatoes become mushy.
  10. Mix them well and add a little water. Add cubed potato and stir.
  11. Add a cup of water.
  12. Add salt as per taste. Bring to boil.
  13. Make a paste of the kaju and almond with little water. No need of a fine paste. A little rough paste Will do.
  14. Add to the gravy and simmer for five minutes.
  15. Add tomato ketchup. Mix well. Adjust the gravy consistency as per your liking.
  16. Add paneer cubes and let boil for five more minutes on a low flame.
  17. Add crushed kasuri Methi and switch off the gas.
