Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Chicken(with bone)- 500gm
  2. Onion- 2large size( chopped)
  3. Tomato- 1 large size(puree)
  4. Ginger-garlic paste- 2-3tablespoon
  5. Coriander powder- 1teaspoon
  6. Cumin powder- 1teaspoon
  7. Chilli powder-1teaspoon
  8. Garam masala- 2tablespoon
  9. Turmeric powder-1teaspoon
  10. Lemon juice - 1teaspoon
  11. Bay Leaf-1 no
  12. Sugar- A pinch
  13. salt as per taste
  14. Mustard oil- 2 tablespoon
  15. Coriander leaves for garnishing


  1. Wash chicken properly, squeeze a lemon juice into it and add turmeric and mix well and keep aside.
  2. Now, heat the khadai and add oil, once the oil gets heated add sugar and bay leaf.
  3. Once the sugar turns red, add the chopped onion and fry till its colour changes to golden brown.
  4. Now add the ginger garlic paste,turmeric, chilli powder, cumin powder, coriander powder . Lower the flame and cook till oil starts to come out of the masala.
  5. Now add the tomato puree and salt and cook it again till the raw smell of the tomato goes and oil starts coming out.
  6. Now add the chicken , cover it with a lid and cook it on slow flame till the chicken is cooked. Then add the garam masala powd er. Then cover the khadai for next 2mins. Now add water as you need the curry to be. Now the chicken Kassa is ready.
  7. Garnish with coriander leaves. Serve hot with rice or roti.
