ABOUT Cheese Honey Pizza RECIPE

Sometimes we vegetarians want a different kind of pizza, not your always-the-same tomato sauce topped with cheese and a ton of vegetables (I love you olives, but seriously). I’ve been on a pizza kick of late and while I usually make mini pizzas for myself I wanted to take a try at a large pizza with some unusual but absolutely delicious fall flavours. SO, for your Pizza Party, we have Mozzarella Cheese Honey And Ricotta Cheese Pizza.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. Pizza crust :
  2. Yeast 1 teaspoon
  3. Water room temperature 3/4 cup
  4. Flour 2 cups
  5. Salt 1 teaspoon
  6. Olive Oil 3 Tablespoons
  7. Pizza toppings :
  8. Ricotta (fresh if possible!) 1/2 cup
  9. Shredded mozzarella 1cup
  10. Honey 2-3 tablespoons
  11. Fresh ground pepper

Instructions

  1. Make the pizza crush dough: Pour the water in a small bowl and sprinkle the yeast on top. Let it sit for 5 minutes.
  2. Put the flour and salt in a mixing bowl. Add the olive oil with the mixer on low speed, and then pour in the yeast and water mixture until it comes together. The dough will be sticky.
  3. Scoop out the dough and form it into a rough ball. Place it in a mixing bowl that has been coated with olive oil, cover it with plastic wrap and let it sit on the counter for about two hours (longer is fine too if you want to make it ahead).
  4. When you are ready to make the pizza, preheat the oven to 250.
  5. Place the dough on a floured surface and cut it in half. Roll each ball out into a ten inch circle. The circle doesn’t have to be perfect – the interesting shapes are part of the fun of homemade pizza! Place the dough on cookie sheets.
  6. Top with the mozzarella, and then drop dollops of ricotta on top.
  7. Bake for about 15 minutes or until cheese is melted and the crust is golden. Remove and cool for a couple of minutes. Drizzle on honey, grind on fresh pepper, cut in wedges and serve.
