ABOUT Honey cough drops RECIPE

Honey has long been used as a natural remedy for sore throats and cough .A study has said that children who get a dose of honey cough less tgan those who get cough medicine .These honey drops not only help the scratchy throats but also my son loves these immune boosting honey drops.

Ingredients Serving: 10

  1. Dabur Honey -2 tablespoons
  2. Water-1/2 cup
  3. Sugar-1cup
  4. Cloves(grounded)-1/4 teaspoon
  5. Black pepper (grounded)-1/4 teaspoon
  6. Dried ginger powder-1/2teaspoon
  7. Liquorice powder-1/4 teaspoon
  8. Lemon juice-1 tablespoon
  9. Liquorice powder-1/4 teaspoon
  10. Icing sugar - to coat the drops


  1. Mix all the ingredients (except icing sugar) in a heavy bottomed pan
  2. Heat the liquid on high flame till sugar dissolves
  3. After dissolving the sugar now cook at low flame till hard crack stage . Stir countinously .This may take 20-25 minutes.Test by dropping a little into a bowl of ice cold water.if it cracks it is ready ..if it is chewy cook for few more minutes
  4. Remove from the heat
  5. Carefully pour the mixture in silicon candy mould and allow to cool at room temperature until the candy has fully set
  6. If you don't have candy mould you can use parchment paper or butter paper
  7. Remove the candies from moulds
  8. Toss the candies in icing sugar and store in a airtight jar
