ABOUT Rice flour dumplings upma RECIPE

It is a south indian dish which is made of rice flour. It is a upma alongwith rice dumplings channa daal and south indian tadka. Easy to cook and tasty.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1 cup Rice flour
  2. Salt
  3. 1 Cup water
  4. 1/2 cup soaked chana daal
  5. 2 green chilli
  6. 2 red chilli
  7. 1 tsp mustard seeds
  8. 1 tsp jeera
  9. Hing
  10. 1 tsp urad daal
  11. curry leaves
  12. 1 chopped onion
  13. Coriander leaves
  14. Salt
  15. 2 tbsp Oil
  16. 1/2 tsp haldi
  17. 1 tsp red chilli powder
  18. 1 tbsp lemon juice
  19. Tomato sauce if desired

Instructions

  1. Coarsely grind chana daal
  2. Heat water in pan
  3. Add salt
  4. When it boils add rice flour
  5. Stir it finely
  6. When it comes in ball off gas
  7. Let it little cool
  8. Make small dumplings
  9. Steam them in steamer
  10. Insert a knife if it remain clean then dumplings are ready
  11. Heat oil in pan add rai,jeera and hing
  12. Add urad daal
  13. Add curry leaves
  14. Add ginger paste
  15. Take both chillies and add in oil
  16. Then add coarse chana daal and stir till remove it's water
  17. Then add salt.haldi and mirch
  18. Add lemon juice
  19. Mix all of them and add dumplings
  20. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot
