ABOUT Papa Roti Buns RECIPE

Its a soft bun with an outer coffee crust that is prepared with typical coffee icing. The inner part of the bun is stuffed with butter.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. Dough
  2. Flour 31/2 cup
  3. Brown sugar 1/3 cup
  4. Salt 1 teaspoon
  5. Yeast 2 teaspoon
  6. Egg 1
  7. Warm milk 1 cuo
  8. Softened butter 1/4 cup
  9. Coffee Icing
  10. Butter 15 tablespoon
  11. Icing sugar 11/2 cup
  12. Eggs 3
  13. Instant coffee 2tablespoon
  14. Water 2 tablespoon
  15. Self rising flour 1 2/3 cup
  16. Filling
  17. Small cubes butter 16

Instructions

  1. Freeze the 16 small cubes of butter
  2. For dough In a mixer bowl with hook attached mix sugar ,flour and salt.Add in yeast and mix again.Then add milk and egg mix it finally add butter and mix for 5 more minutes. Then nead it till soft
  3. Allow the dough to rest till it is double in size
  4. Then cut the dough into 16 equal rounds and allow to rest for 15 minutes more
  5. Then flatten the ball and place the frozen butter in middle and turn into a bun again allow them to rise for 10 minutes
  6. For Icing Mix icing sugar and butter till soft and creamy then add eggs one at a time
  7. Mix coffee powder with water and add to it.
  8. Add flour and check consistency need to be just firm to pipe (amt of flour may vary)
  9. Put this icing into a piping bag and refrigerate for half n hour before piping
  10. when ready to bake pipe the icing on top of the buns spirally till end and bake at 200°c for 12-15 minutes until top is golden brown
