ABOUT Swedish Butter Cookies RECIPE

These are very famous cookies from north america. These are cruncy from outside and mouth melting from inside. Traditionally they call it Spritz Cookies because they make these with cookie press and spritz means is to press. But i have made it without cookie press. And for making design i used fork.

Ingredients Serving: 8

  1. Butter (room temp.)1 cup
  2. Castor sugar 1/2 cup
  3. Egg yolks 2
  4. Vanilla extract 1 teaspoon
  5. Flour 2 cup
  6. Salt 1 pinch
  7. Coloured sugar / dessert sugar 2 tablespoon
  8. Cherries 6-8

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven at 180 degree for 10 minutes.
  2. Add butter in a big bowl and whisk well.
  3. Add sugar and whisk till light and creamy.
  4. Add egg yorks and whisk till light pale colour.
  5. Add Vanilla extract and mix.
  6. Add Flour and salt mix well.
  7. Make a soft dough using hands.
  8. Make small balls from the dough and press between palms and shape it like a cookie.
  9. Arrange all the cookies on baking tray.
  10. Make design using fork and Sprinkle some dessert sugar on it.
  11. Stick half cherry on each cookie.
  12. Bake it for 15 minutes at 180 degree in preheated oven.
  13. Let it cool Completely and serve with Tea coffee.
