An excellent peppery, spicy appetiser than can also be added as a main dish

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1 onion finely chopped
  2. 2 green chillies finely chopped
  3. 200 gms button mushroom cleaned and chopped
  4. 1 tbspn heaped black pepper powder
  5. Dry spices like 1 tbspn turmeric, red chilli and coriander
  6. 2 sprigs of curry leaves
  7. 1 tbspn ginger garlic paste
  8. Salt to taste
  9. 2-3 tbspn cooking oil
  10. 1 tbspn mixed herbs

Instructions

  1. In a non stick pan/wok heat the oil over medium flame
  2. Add onions, green chillies and ginger garlic paste, curry leaves and sauté till onions are translucent
  3. Add the dry spices, pepper powder and sprinkle some water and dry roast for 2-3 minutes
  4. Add salt and mushroom. Mix well and roast covered until mushrooms soften
  5. Serve hot garnished with mixed herbs
