ABOUT Papaya halwa RECIPE

Papaya halwa has a very mild,slightly tangy and light taste, is best to serve as a desert after dinner .

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 3 cups grated raw papaya
  2. 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  3. 500 gram full cream milk
  4. 3 green powdered cardamoms
  5. 1 pinch yellow colour (optional)
  6. Chopped almonds 10 pieces
  7. Ghee 2 table spoon

Instructions

  1. Heat ghee in a deep pan,Add grated papaya to the pan and fry for about 10 minutes on medium flame.
  2. Add the milk and bring it up to the boil. When the milk will start boiling simmer the gas. Stirring constantly.
  3. When the milk reduced add the yellow colour and sugar to this mix and cook for 7 to 8 minutes.
  4. Add chopped almonds.
  5. Take the halwa off the heat but stir for another few minutes.
  6. Add the cardamom powder. Garnished with almonds.
  7. Serve hot or cold .
