ABOUT Goley ( spiced raisins and dates winter special laddoos) RECIPE

This is my mother in law’s winter special laddoos recipe. I have seen her make every year in winters and consume one each day. Raisins and dates are both excellent for cardiovascular and digestive health and help in anemia too. Spicing these up with black pepper and Long pepper and black cardamom also helps in respiratory ailments in winters. Added on the benefits of almonds in all the above systems of the body.

Ingredients Serving: 10

  1. 100 gm almonds
  2. 1 tbsp Whole Black Pepper
  3. 3-4 long pepper / pippali
  4. 3 whole black cardamoms
  5. 175 gm raisins / munakka
  6. 75 gm seedless date’s

Instructions

  1. First of all, wash the raisins/ munakka and dates in running water to remove any impurities.
  2. Pat them dry on a kitchen towel and keep aside.
  3. Remove the seeds from the munakka one by one and keep aside.
  4. Take the almonds , black pepper, pippali and seeds from the black cardamom in a mixer grinder and pulse them till you get a powdered form, put this aside in a bowl.
  5. Now in the same mixer grinder pulse both the munakka and dates one by one till you get paste form of each.
  6. Add both the munakka and dates in the spiced powdered almonds and mix well.
  7. Shape the mix into small laddoos and store them in a container.
  8. These laddoos are best served one each day with milk.
