Sugar is one thing we all at all ages try to avoid. Jaggery is a sugar substitute and it’s medicinal properties to fight anaemia is well known. Further, it’s instrumental in preventing constipation in kids, pregnant women and elders. Its loaded with antioxidants and minerals. Nolen gur is date-palm jaggery available in winters in the city of sweets...Kolkata. Whole wheat used makes it a healthy dessert.Bake this cake to satisfy the sweet cravings of all.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Whole Wheat Flour 1.5 cups
  2. nolen gur 1 cup
  3. milk for gur paste 3 tbsn
  4. milk for batter 1 cup
  5. vinegar 1 tbsn
  6. vanilla essence 1 tsn
  7. 1 egg
  8. olive oil 3/4th cup
  9. baking powder 1 tsn
  10. baking soda 1/2 tsn
  11. dry fruits powdered 1/2 cup(optional)

Instructions

  1. microwave gur using 3 tbsn milk or heating it in a pan. let cool
  2. Combine milk and vinegar in a bowl and keep aside
  3. In another bowl, beat the egg and oil together.
  4. Pour in the milk- vinegar , vanilla Essence and jaggery paste. whisk well
  5. Seive in the flour, baking soda, baking powder & dry fruits
  6. Combine well to form a thick batter and pour it in a greased baking tin/bread loaf pan
  7. Bake for 30 minutes at 180 degree celcius or till done
