Dates are a good source of various vitamins and minerals, energy, sugar, and fiber. It also contains calcium, iron, phosphorus, potassium, magnesium. One-quarter cup of walnuts, for instance, provides more than 100 percent of the daily recommended value of plant-based omega-3 fats, along with high amounts of copper, manganese, molybdenum, and biotin.Walnuts may improve sperm quality, help with weight control, and offer support for brain health and type 2 diabetes. Excellent in fighting breast and prostrate cancer.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. 250 gms seedless dates
  2. 200 ml water to soak
  3. 100 gms unsalted butter
  4. 200 ml sweetened condensed milk
  5. 150 gms all purpose flour
  6. 1 tsn vanilla extract
  7. 1 tsn salt
  8. 1 tsn baking powder
  9. 50 gms chopped walnuts
  10. 2 tbn date syrup reserve

Instructions

  1. Soak dates in warm water for 30 minutes at least
  2. Chop walnuts and keep aside
  3. Melt butter in a saucepan
  4. Strain the dates while reserving the liquid/syrup
  5. Chop/slice the soaked dates
  6. Add the melted butter in a mixing bowl
  7. Add the condensed milk and mix
  8. Add baking powder
  9. Follow it by salt. Mix well
  10. Add the flour bit by bit and fold in well
  11. Add the chopped walnuts reserving a tbn
  12. Follow it by chopped dates
  13. Blend all the ingredients well and transfer to a greased baking pan
  14. Sprinkle the remaining walnuts on TOP and bake upto 30-40 minutes at 200 degree celcius
  15. Let cool off after baking and store airtight
