ABOUT Sweet Potato Halwa/porridge ( for babies/toddlers) RECIPE

Sweet potatoes are an excellent source of vitamin A (in the form of beta-carotene). They are also a very good source of vitamin C, manganese, copper, pantothenic acid and vitamin B6. Additionally, they are a good source of potassium, dietary fiber, niacin, vitamin B1, vitamin B2 and phosphorus. This halwa is ideal for all age groups but especially yummy and nutritious for growing babies

Ingredients Serving: 1

  1. 50 gms boiled and mashed sweet potato
  2. 5 tbn ghee
  3. 20 ml plain milk
  4. 1 tsn sugar
  5. 2 pistachios sliced
  6. 1 tsn green cardamom pods

Instructions

  1. Melt ghee in a sauce pan and add the mashed sweet potato
  2. Add milk and sugar and bring it to boil
  3. Stir constantly to avoid sticking to the base and sides of the pan
  4. lower the heat and add the remaining ghee, cardamom powder. Mix and let simmer till thick
  5. Serve warm garnished with sliced pistachios
