Handi mutton is a royal mutton curry popular in northern regions of India. The recipe is made up using mutton with bones. Mutton is the good source of protien.. So this recepie is best for circle of life..

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. 1 kg - mutton with bones
  2. 3-4 large onion
  3. 1 small cup - fresh Mint leaves
  4. 1 cup - curd
  5. 2 pieces - green Cardamom 2 pieces - black Cardamom
  6. 2 tbsp Oil
  7. 2 pieces - Cinnamons
  8. 2 tsp - Ginger Garlic paste
  9. Garam Masala powder and Turmeric powder
  10. Salt to taste
  11. Coriander leave

Instructions

  1. Marinate the washed, mutton with curd, salt, mustard oil, turmeric powder, chilli powder and coriander powder for 2 hours.
  2. In a mixer grade onions, garam masalas, coriander leaves, mint leaves, ginger and garlic cloves.
  3. Heat some vegetable oil in a kadai.
  4. Add in the grated mixture and saute for 5 mins.Now add the marinated mutton pieces. Cook for 10 mins.
  5. Add a pinch of salt, turmeric and chilli powder if necessary.
  6. Add water to it and cover, cook till the sauce is dense and mutton pieces are tender.
  7. Garnish with freshly cut coriander leaves.
  8. Serve hot with bati , roti or rice ....
