ABOUT Greek pan cake with honey RECIPE

The ancient Greeks and Romans ate pancakes, sweetened with honey , the Elizabethans ate them flavored with spices, rosewater, sherry, and apples. They were traditionally eaten on Shrove Tuesday or Pancake Day, a day of feasting and partying before the beginning of Lent. So this pancake tradition of greek people. Must try this pan cake for kids , they love it. Easy fast traditional breakfast

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. All purpose flour / maida for 8 - 10 pancakes - 2 cups
  2. Eggs -2 medium size
  3. Unsalted Melted butter - 3 spoon
  4. Milk - 1 cup
  5. Honey - 1/2 cup (depends on your taste)
  6. Vanilla essence - 1 spoon
  7. Salt -1 pinch
  8. Baking powder - 3 spoon
  9. Honey. Strawberry, fruits for garnish

Instructions

  1. For the dry ingredients are taken a bowl, add 2 cups of all purpose flour /maida, 1/2 cup of honey, 3 tsp of baking powder, pinch of salt
  2. Combine all the dry ingredients well..
  3. Let sstart with wet ingredients - take 2 medium size eggs .Beat the eggs well
  4. Add 1 cup of milk mix well..
  5. And add 1 tsp of vanilla essence whisk well.
  6. Add the wet mixture little by little combined well with the dry ingredients
  7. Add some unsalted butter , so take 3 spoon of unsalted butter melt In microwave for 5 second and add into the mixture
  8. We dont want the batter to be very thick, or very thin, the batter should be like dropping consistency..
  9. So finally , we make pan cake batter
  10. Let start, making a pan cake.. Heat a nonstick pan... Take a small cloth or sponge dip into the melted butter rub in the full pan or use spoon to rub.
  11. The pan is just medium hot. We dont want very hot , making the pan cake. It's burnt on the bottom. So just your flame should be medium to slow .
  12. Take 1 scoop , just drop it, scoop out of laddle full of batter. Just shape them in roundels
  13. That's it... Now we will wait for 2 mins.. The flame should be change medium to low , low to medium .
  14. Now we can see bubble in top. Beautifully have buff tuff. So now flip this. The pan cake is ready .
