Sweets are undoubtedly traditional for Valentine's Day, you can try the perfect Banoffee Pie which will instantly melt in your mouth.

Ingredients Serving: 12

  1. For the base:
  2. butter 100 gms, melted
  3. Digestive Biscuits 250 gms, crushed
  4. For the caramel:
  5. butter 100 gms
  6. Dark Brown sugar 100 gms
  7. Condensed Milk 400 gms
  8. bananas 4 small
  9. Whipping cream 300 ml, whipped
  10. Grated Chocolate for garnish


  1. In a bowl, mix the biscuit crumbs with butter. In a greased tin, spoon the crumbs into the base and about halfway up the sides of the tin to make a pie shell. Chill for 10 minutes.
  2. Melt the butter and sugar into a non-stick sauce pan on low heat, stirring continuously. Add the condensed milk and bring to a rapid boil for a minute for a thick golden caramel.
  3. Spread the caramel over the base, cool and then chill for about 1 hour, until firm.
  4. Carefully lift the pie from the tin and place on a serving plate. Slice the bananas; fold half of them into the softly whipped cream and spoon over the base.
  5. Decorate with the remaining bananas and finish with grated chocolate.
