Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. for batter:
  2. suji - 1 cup
  3. curd - 1/2 cup
  4. salt to taste
  5. eno -1/4 tsp
  6. dhaniapatta chopped -3/4th cup
  7. green chilli chopped -1 tsp
  8. water as required
  9. For Tempering :
  10. oil -1tsp
  11. rai -1/8tsp
  12. jeera-1/8tsp
  13. dry ginger powder-1/8tsp
  14. black pepper powder -1/8tsp
  15. hing - a pinch
  16. haldi - a pinch
  17. kaju coarsely chopped - 2 tsp

Instructions

  1. mix all the ingredients of batter except eno adding water till you get a thick consistency like normal idli batter consistency.
  2. keep it aside for 30 minutes.
  3. prepare tempering and pour it into the batter and mix well.
  4. adjust water if required if it gets thicker.
  5. add eno and whisk well.
  6. pour batter into idli moulds steam it for 5 minutes on high flame and 10 minutes on medium flame.
  7. idli is ready to be served with chutney or sambar or rasam
